2008 Kalamazoo County Fair Queen
Pageant
The Kalamazoo County Fair is proud to announce its 1st
Annual Queen Pageant to be held on Monday, August 4 at 7p.m.
in Room A of the Community Building. Doors open at 6:30p.m.
with a sell out crowd expected, so you will want to purchase
your tickets early. A group of talented young ladies will
vie for the opportunity to represent the Kalamazoo County
Fair for the upcoming year. Our newly crowned Queen and her
Court will host their first duty during the Fair’s Ribbon
Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, August 5. Throughout the year,
they will visit other area fairs, participate in parades and
take part in service club presentations, official grand
openings and other special events.
Wright Beauty Academy will present the newly crowned
Kalamazoo County Fair Queen with a full scholarship totaling
$8000 to be used at their Portage location. “A career in
cosmetology can mean everything from working in a salon
doing cuts, perms and colors, to working in the fashion
industry creating looks for runway models and print ads.
Cosmetologists also work on stage at industry shows, showing
the latest in styles and techniques. The cosmetology course
in Michigan is only 1500 clock hours, and can be completed
in as little as 11 months full time or 22 months part time.”
For more information on the courses, please contact Wright
Beauty Academy at 269.321.8708.
