General Gate Admission Policies
To ensure a safe environment for all patrons, the Kalamazoo
County Agricultural Society Board of Directors have approved
the following polices to be enforced during the Kalamazoo
County Fair. To maintain a family atmosphere at such time,
the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department has been directed
to act as agents to enforce these policies on behalf of the
Board of Directors. A full implementation plan has been
created by the Sheriff’s Department in cooperation with the
Kalamazoo County Agricultural Society Board of Directors.

Youth Admissions Policy: All youths under the age
of sixteen (16) years must be accompanied by an adult
parent or legal guardian, twenty-one (21) years or
older, to be admitted to the Kalamazoo County Fair after
5p.m. Anyone age sixteen (16) years and over may be
asked to show a valid driver’s license for proof of age
in order to be permitted to the fair without a parent or
guardian. Any young adult age sixteen (16) through
twenty (20) without a valid driver’s license and not
accompanied by a parent or guardian may not be permitted
after 5p.m. One parent or legal guardian may escort up
to four (4) youths, and at least one of the youths must
be the child of the parent or legal guardian. Parents
or legal guardians are responsible for the actions of
the escorted youths. Exceptions and challenges to this
policy will be satisfied at the discretion of Fair
Management.

Dress Code: The wearing or displaying of clothing or
insignias which are likely to provoke / embroil / intimidate
the general public or cause open conflict is prohibited.

Disruptive Activity: Any individual(s) who engage in
unlawful activity such as intimidation, flashing signs,
engaging in criminal activity and / or committing overt acts
to cause disruption or incite disorder while attending the
Kalamazoo County Fair will be removed from the event. They
may be issued a trespass notice as well as any appropriate
criminal charges, if applicable.

Security: All containers, packages, persons,
and vehicles are subject to search upon arrival at the
Kalamazoo County Fair. The following items are not
permitted on the fairgrounds by attendees:

Alcoholic beverages.

Concealed weapons (with or without permit with
the exception of sworn Police officers).

Dogs or pets other than guide dogs
except when confined and leashed within the campgrounds
or unless they are a part of an authorized act or
exhibit.

No bikes, skateboards or rollerblades.

All vehicles, persons, containers, and packages are
subject to search.

of 2500 or more.
